The I’wa Bird is a native Hawaiian bird. According to Kaila Hawaii, the I’wa Bird is, “graceful in its flight, an ‘iwa may represent an attractive or elegant person that draws admiration of others.”
Tonight, I had the opportunity to have dinner with one of my sister-in-laws. She is a seriously amazing lady and I really mean that…she amazes me! She is sweet…I have yet to hear her say anything negative. She is kind and generous…always seeking ways to give to others. She is hard working…up at 5 a.m. to sign wave with her husband who is campaigning, then she heads home to get her three-children ready for the day, drops them off and then works full time. She is smart…my brother often refers to her as the CEO of the team – she brings fresh ideas and strategy to not only the campaign but to her work and her family.
Tonight, my sister-in-law gave me beautiful silver earnings hand-made by her friend. The earnings were a silver disk with the I’wa Bird etched on them. She said she thought of me when she saw the earnings. She said she thought I was like the I’wa bird soaring gracefully. I was speechless and so moved by this beautiful gesture from this beautiful person.
