I spoke to my Dad this morning. He asked if Ka’Lei was going to come over to go swimming today. A simple question with such a powerful meaning of inclusion. We were Hawaiian and he would no longer call her by the name I gave her but rather by her Hawaiian name. Although I paused when he said it, I smiled knowing she would now be Ka’Lei to him.

Why Pineapple Princess 360? As a kid, I had been told I had Hawaiian blood. I dreamed of being a "Pineapple Princess," a descendant from the ancient Hawaiian monarchy. That dream has become a unbelievable reality and my story has come full circle (360 degrees). My dad continually says, "this is real" believing that one day "this is real" will be the title for our book! This blog chronicles my journey.
